This fast, semi-slick tire is the latest MAXXIS XC tire that won a World Cup. With a similar profile to the all-round XC tire Rekon, but with smaller and lower lugs, the tire rolls even faster. This brings less resistance to the ground and rolls easier. The more pronounced L-shaped side knobs bite into the terrain and thus provide the best grip in loose curves and on sloping terrain. The Rekon Race performs best on the rear wheel together with a more heavily profiled tire on the front wheel. Or front and rear for short track racing and light fast race courses.

This special carcass construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape on today's wider rims. Traditional tires are developed for narrow rims and get a square shape on wide rims and thus a less than optimal performance
